Terms of service
Seattle Pontoon Rentals – Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Agreement”) govern all rentals with Seattle Pontoon Rentals (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By paying your deposit or stepping onto one of our vessels, you (“Renter,” “Captain,” or “you”) agree to everything below.
1. Payments & Deposits
A 40% deposit is due at the time of booking.
Deposits are non-refundable, but may be converted into a rain check credit (see Section 2).
The remaining 60% balance must be paid in full at least 24 hours prior to departure.
If final payment is not received by this deadline, your booking may be canceled and your deposit forfeited.
2. Cancellations & Rain Check Credits
If you cancel 72 hours or more before departure, your deposit may be applied as a rain check credit toward another rental in the same boating season (subject to availability).
Cancellations made less than 72 hours before departure will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
No-shows and same-day cancellations are not eligible for credits or refunds.
If we must cancel due to unsafe weather or mechanical issues, you will be offered either:
A rain check credit, or
A full refund of all amounts paid.
3. Captain & Licensing
The designated operator of the vessel (the “Captain”) must:
Hold a valid Washington State Boater Education Card, or
Obtain a temporary license through Seattle Pontoon Rentals before departure.
Only the named Captain may operate the vessel. Allowing unlicensed operation is grounds for immediate termination of the rental without refund.
The Captain is fully responsible for knowing and following all U.S. Coast Guard and Washington State boating laws.
4. Safety & Conduct
Life jackets are provided for all passengers. Children 12 and under must wear life jackets at all times.
The Captain may not operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Passengers may consume alcohol responsibly, but disorderly or unsafe conduct will result in termination of the rental with no refund.
Fireworks, grills, open flames, or weapons are strictly prohibited onboard.
The vessel must not exceed posted passenger or weight limits.
5. Fuel Policy
Rentals do not include fuel. You have two options:
Flat Rate Refill – Pay $50 for up to 4 hours of rental time. This covers your fuel usage and refueling service.
Self-Refuel – You may return the vessel refilled at the fuel dock. Proof of refueling is required at check-in.
If the vessel is returned without refueling and you have not selected the flat-rate option, a $50 refueling charge will be automatically applied.
6. Vessel Use Restrictions
The boat must stay within approved operating areas outlined before departure.
No towing (e.g., tubes, wakeboards, skiers) is permitted unless specifically authorized.
Boats may not be operated after sunset.
Subleasing, chartering, or using the vessel for commercial purposes is prohibited.
7. Damages, Cleaning & Liability
You are responsible for any damage, loss, theft, or excessive cleaning resulting from your use of the vessel.
A valid credit card must remain on file, and you authorize us to charge for damages or additional cleaning.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Seattle Pontoon Rentals, its owners, and staff from claims, damages, or injuries caused by your actions, except where due to our gross negligence.
8. Weather & Rescheduling
Rentals may be rescheduled, delayed, or canceled if unsafe weather conditions are present, as determined by Seattle Pontoon Rentals.
If weather prevents departure, a rain check credit or refund will be issued.
If weather changes after departure and we recall the vessel for safety, a prorated credit may be offered.
9. Late Returns
You must return the vessel at the scheduled time.
Late returns are billed at the hourly rental rate plus any costs incurred by delaying subsequent bookings.
10. Assumption of Risk
Boating involves inherent risks including injury, drowning, collision, or property damage. By renting, you accept these risks for yourself and your guests.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
Any disputes will be handled in King County, WA.
12. Final Acknowledgment
By paying your deposit and confirming your booking, you agree that you:
Have read and understood this Agreement.
Accept responsibility for the vessel and all passengers.
Acknowledge that failure to comply may result in cancellation, forfeiture of payments, and/or additional charges.
